Could you imagine living in the same house as your abuser? Trusting and loving someone just to get betrayed? Well studies show that 8 out of 10 sexual abusers are someone in the family or someone the child knows. For every incident of child abuse or neglect that gets reported, it’s estimated that two others go unreported. This means that everyday you could potentially walk by someone who could use your help.

I think it's cruel that someone has the nerve to even abuse a child, let alone anyone. Also, I think that it makes the situation worse when the abuser is someone in the family, it just shows that the abuser doesn't care about there family member.

ReplyDeleteI think it is horrible how someone could do that to their own child. I feel so bad for someone who has to go through that.
ReplyDeleteThe penalty in New York is a long process..The child is usually taken into social services while family court is taking place. The outcome of that determines the actual punishment of the abuser and the fate of the child.
ReplyDeleteAs i think about it, that would be super scary! I don't know how someone could go through life being abused and not really being able to help it. I think that is sad and wrong! Good point Kaysie!
ReplyDeleteLiving in a household with an abuser is probably one of the worst experiences a child could go through. It breaks my heart to think that someone in our school could quite possibly be going through something like that.
